FORUM POLICY
This policy describs the rules you are bound to. This policy might be incomplete at various points, but in that way the policy remains readable.
Before recruiting it goes extremely recommended to read at least sections 1, 6 and 7. The other sections are more specific.
1) General
#1.1 This is a English only board. If you want to use another language, be sure to provide a translation as well.
#1.2 We will not tolerate bad language. Swearing is not allowed on these boards. Beeping a word is just as offensive as the word itself and will be treated as such.
Slight modulations of words but with the same implication is a form of beeping and will not be tolerated.
#1.3 Show the proper respect toward every forum member, you will not attack or use abusive language toward any person in or outside this board using the facilities and information available here. Email addresses are available, but do NOT use it without the permission of that member.
#1.4 Keep your posts clean and readable, use capitals at the right point and comma's and periods as well. This will improve readability for other members, otherwise you might find that no-one reads you posts and you'll probably get a reply from a moderator informing you of the fact.
Try to keep your spelling as good as possible. There are handy browserplugins available for that purpose like ieSpell (http://www.iespell.com/). You can use abbreviations, but plz use them wise, not everyone knows all of them.
#1.5 No L33t,... This is highly unreadable. And the post will be deleted when finding such content.
#1.6 Its by no means allowed to login to this forum on any other account but your own, unless its explicitly authorised by the Forum Administrator. Even if the owner of that account has authorised it. Violation will result in banning of both the user and the owner of the account.
2) PM facility
#2.1 This board is equipped with a PM system, this is a great tool and should be used for great things. Don't over-send PMs. Before sending, think if the recipient likes to get a message. Spamming is highly inappropriate and will be responded to with either the deactivation of your PM system or the immediate deletion and banning of your account. There are no warnings.
#2.2 You've been given a very generous amount of PM storage space (500 PMs). However its desirable that you keep it clean yourself.
3) Images & Links
You are allowed to use images and links in your posts, however some restrictions apply.
#3.1 Linked images may never exceed a resolution of 800x600, recommendable is 640x480. This to maintain readability.
#3.2 Know that some sites don't allow 'off-site' links... thus using a link toward that image might result in just a 'X'.
#3.3 Links to images and other content must comply with the Forum Policy. Abusive images and/or contents is not allowed.
4) Avatars & Signatures
#4.1 Avatars can be a linked or uploaded image. Uploaded images are restricted in size. Linked images are not restricted by the forum itself, but too large images shouldn't be used. If a too large avatar is used, the admin will temporarily remove the avatar and discuss the issue with you. Its advisable that you think about the size yourself, but if you accidentally use a too large size, we will just have a friendly chat. However if you repeatedly oversize those images, the 'discussion' will get a more unfriendly tone.
#4.2 The amount of characters you can use in your signature is extensive, but this is done so you can have long text/quotes. Don't extend your signature over more than approximately 6 lines.
#4.3 Images are allowed in your signature, but please keep them small, its advisable to use only one image. We like to keep the topics readable. If your signature becomes bigger than the post itself then you can bet on it that its too big.
#4.4 The width of the sigs may not exceed 600 pixels and the height no more than 225 pixels, but its recommended that the height of your signature block does not exceed 150 pixels.
#4.5 For further information about signatures please visit "http://forum.tgbo.net/viewtopic.php?t=1404" for further information about the subject.
5) Attachments
#5.1 Every member has been given standard 4 MB in attachment space. Use it wisely. You can use it in both your PM and posts. Abusive or illegal attachments will be deleted without notice, and your access could be restricted or removed.
#5.2 When attaching images, its recommendable you use the standard jpg format. Also the size of these images should be limited. The size limits are the same as with linked images. If you would like to send a larger image, please contact an forumadmin prior to posting it. If you have MS Office you can easily resize it with MS Photo Editor. Its a small tool, but can resize jpg images using Anti-Aliasing and can save the file properly with variable compression. (unlike MS Paint)
#5.3 The Admin has the ability to 'own' your attachment, this is for your own best interest. If the Admin considers your attachment to be for the benefit of the forum, he may decide to 'own' that attachment. Thus freeing you of your quota. But please, do not spam the Admin with 'owning' requests.
#5.4 Recognized music formats will be featured with a player, amongst this is wma.
#5.5 Again, try to work space preservant: Do not post 'wav' files. Try to avoid txt files. Zip them, its easily done and saves lots of space. Recommendable audio/video formats are mp3, wma, mpg, wmv.
6) Registering
#6.1 Anyone can register at these boards, but the following is true.
#6.2 By registering on this forum you agree to follow the policy stated here.
#6.3 By registering you will not gain access to 'more' boards unless you are accepted in the Guardian clan. (A special 'recruiting request' has to be made, please refer to the 'Recruiting Board' for those.)
#6.4 Only recruiting requests should be posted at the recruiting board and only high ranked Guardians are allowed to reply. Or to your own recruiting thread.
7) Disclaimer
#7.1 IN NO EVENT UNLESS REQUIRED BY APPLICABLE LAW SHALL TGBO.NET BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR DAMAGES, INCLUDING ANY GENERAL, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICES PROVIDED BY TGBO.NET (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA OR DATA BEING RENDERED INACCURATE OR LOSSES SUSTAINED BY YOU OR THIRD PARTIES), EVEN IF TGBO.NET OR YOU HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
#7.2 THE ADMINS OF THIS FORUM VALUE YOU PRIVACY, HOWEVER, THE MATTER OF YOUR PRIVACY IS YOUR OWN. INFORMATION ON THIS FORUM CAN GENERALLY BE READ BY ANYONE IF DETERMINED TO DO SO. THE INFORMATION IN YOUR PROFILE CAN BE READ PUBLICLY, AND THEREFOR ITS YOUR OWN RESPONSIBILITY IF YOU CHOOSE TO PUT CERTAIN PRIVATE INFORMATION THERE OR ANYWHERE ELSE ON THE FORUM. ANY INFORMATION YOU PRIVATELY GIVE TO AN ADMINISTRATOR WILL BE TREATED CONFIDENTIAL UPON YOUR REQUEST.
